Vehicle transfers:

We use vehicle transfers to move guests between Lagoon and Lebala camps which are about 3 hours game drive apart. These vehicles are our normal game drive vehicles driven using our guides and trackers as on a normal game drive.

Vehicle access to camps:

Botswana camps

Maun and Kasane are easily reached by car from Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa. We do not normally have self drive access into our camps in Botswana. This is for a number of reasons. Firstly, people often get lost as the tracks to our areas are not clearly visible and vary depending on the level of the flood waters and state of the sand. Secondly, most private vehicles are not equipped to handle the conditions and tend to overheat, suffer from multiple punctures and get stuck. At this point we have to try to recover and locate the stranded guests. We still charge for the accommodation not used when stranded overnight in the bush.

However, we will take whole camp bookings with self drive guests - provided they pay for one of our guides to fly to Maun or Kasane to meet them and show them the route to the camp. A second requirement is that the guests sign an agreement that they will be recovered by a third party contractor if they have mechanical or other similar problems en route and that they accept that they will be liable for the accommodation not used. Once in camp the guest will be taken on game drive using our vehicles driven by our guides.

Songwe Village

Songwe Village on the other hand is easily accessible to self drive guests using any vehicle. Cars can be left in town at our offices and pick up's and 4X4 vehicles can drive right into camp. Once there guests are taken around in the Songwe Village vehicles for their activities.
